Utility General Manager
Becoming the Utility General Manager in 2012, Brett manages the overall operation of municipally owned electric, water and fiber-to-the-premise (FTTP) communication utilities. He holds the Professional Engineer designation and brings to the General Manager position his experiences as an Engineer/Project Supervisor with RULE Construction, Ltd. and as a Senior Project Engineer/Project Manager with MSA Professional Services, Inc. Brett currently serves on the Wisconsin Public Power (WPPI) Board of Directors and WPPI Member Services Advisory Group. He is also a leading member of the Governor’s Task Force on Broadband Access.

Dennis Horkan
Electric Division Supervisor
Dennis has been with RUC since 1999. He is a journeyman lineman, meter technician and heavy equipment operator. He has been in the role of Electric Division Supervisor since 2014. The Electric Department maintains over 100 miles of overhead and underground lines that are energized at 7,200 volts. The Electric System serves more than 5,000 customers and consists of voltages up to 138,000 volts..

Jon Craker
Water Division Supervisor
With over 25 years of experience, Jon oversees all operations of Reedsburg’s Water System. Reedsburg Utility maintains a high Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) System and serves over 3,800 customers. The Water System consists of 66 miles of water main, 621 fire hydrants, 5 Wells and 4 reservoirs with 2 separate pressure zones. Jon holds a Certification in Waterworks Operations with, Grade 1 Distribution and Groundwater certifications.

Ken Las
Telecommunications Supervisor
Before becoming the telecomm supervisor, Ken held the position of Outside Plant Foreman gaining experience in construction management, fiber design and fiber engineering. With over 10 years of experience, Ken has a key role in the continued development of network expansion in a demanding and changing industry. Ken has managed projects for broadband expansion involving public/private partnerships including several federal, state, and local initiatives.

Sally Turpin
Energy Services Manager
As Energy Services Manager for the utility, Sally works with customers to identify opportunities for energy efficiency and cost savings, as well as helping to find potential funding opportunities for these projects through programs offered by Reedsburg Utility or power supplier WPPI Energy, and incentives from Wisconsin’s statewide energy efficiency program, Focus on Energy. Additionally, she helps coordinate school and community programs for the utility. Prior to joining Reedsburg Utility Commission in early 2020, Sally spent a decade consulting for customers in the agricultural industry.
